White sage smudge sticks ethically harvested at Mayim Farm

White Sage Smudge Sticks — Ethically Sourced, Hand-Bundled in Alabama

White sage (Salvia apiana) has been used for centuries in traditional cleansing and purification ceremonies. White sage is a native of the southwestern United States and doesn't grow in Alabama's climate — so we source ours from trusted, ethical harvesters in the regions where it grows naturally, then hand-bundle each smudge stick in small batches on our farm in Opp, Alabama.

Ethical sourcing matters with white sage. The plant has been overharvested in recent years and is under real pressure in the wild. We only work with suppliers who harvest sustainably and with respect for both the plant and the cultural traditions it comes from.

White sage smudge sticks are commonly used for space cleansing, aromatherapy, meditation, and creating a calm, focused atmosphere in the home. The clean, herbaceous fragrance is instantly recognizable and deeply grounding.

To use, light the tip of the smudge stick, allow it to catch briefly, then gently blow out the flame so it smolders and produces smoke. Move through your space slowly and intentionally. Always use a fireproof dish and never leave burning sage unattended.

At Mayim Farm we believe in honoring both the plant and the tradition. When you order from us you're getting a sage stick sourced and bundled with care — from people who'll tell you exactly where it came from.
