Wonderful experience, Wonderful farm, people and herbs and plants! Thanks to Carole and Greg, farmers and herbalists. Most fun I've had in a long long time 💗

We get a lot of requests to visit the farm. We love having serious people out here. But a farm visit takes time we’d otherwise spend growing, processing, and running the business, so we handle visits as paid consultations.

It’s a fair trade. You get our undivided attention, a walk through the property, and honest answers to whatever you’re working through. We get compensated for the time. Nobody leaves feeling like they gave something for nothing.

What a Consultation Looks Like

We offer three options depending on where you are and what you need:

Local Farm Visit ($75)
You come to us at 29021 Bell Crossing Rd in Opp. We’ll walk the property, talk through what we’re growing and how, and answer your questions. About an hour. Good for people who want to see a working regenerative herb farm up close and talk through what it takes to start one.

Phone or Zoom Call ($75)
One hour by phone or video. Good for people outside our area who want to talk through soil, plant selection, market strategy, or getting started with herbs. We’ll cover whatever’s most useful to you.

Extended Distance Farm Visit ($150)
We come to you. Includes mileage. Good for people who want eyes on their land and a conversation about what it could support.

What We Talk About

We’ve been farming this land since 2011. We grow moringa, mullein, sweet gum, and a range of medicinal herbs here in Crenshaw County. We can speak to:

  • Getting started with a small herb or homestead farm in the South
  • What grows well in Zone 8a and 8b
  • Soil preparation and regenerative practices without synthetic inputs
  • Selling direct and at farmers markets
  • Processing and packaging herbs for sale
  • What we’ve learned the hard way

We don’t do landscaping consults or general gardening advice. What we do is help people who are serious about starting or growing a small farm figure out what their next steps actually are.

We have been formally trained for this work. We have served as subgrantees with Auburn University and ACES on their Beginning Farmer and Rancher program, and with Auburn University and AVDA on the Alabama Veteran Farmers program. That means we have worked directly with new and beginning farmers as part of a structured, funded program, not just as neighbors with opinions.
