Frequently Asked Questions
What is mullein used for?
Mullein is primarily used for respiratory support: loosening and clearing mucus, soothing inflamed airways, and easing persistent coughs. It has a 2,000-year history of use for lung health.
Is your mullein grown in the US?
Yes. We grow and wildcraft mullein on our farm and surrounding land in Opp, Alabama. Not imported from Eastern Europe or elsewhere.
What is the difference between the tea and the tincture?
The tincture absorbs faster and is more concentrated, better for acute symptoms. The dried leaf brewed as tea works more gradually, and the steam itself helps open airways. Many folks use both.
Can I use mullein if I smoke?
Many smokers and former smokers reach for mullein for lung support. It won't reverse structural damage but can help with mucus clearance and airway irritation.
Why do I need to strain mullein tea carefully?
Mullein leaves have fine hairs that can irritate the throat if they make it into the cup. Always strain through a fine cloth or double-strainer, don't skip this step.
