Frequently Asked Questions About Our Products
Do you grow everything you sell?
No, and we would rather say so plainly. We grow the moringa and the turmeric, we wildcraft the mullein, and we gather sweet gum balls from trees on and around our land. A handful of items we buy in and pack by hand here in Opp, Alabama. If you want to know where a specific product came from, ask us.
Are you certified organic?
No. We are not certified anything, and we do not use that word about our farm. We put no synthetic fertilizer, no pesticide, and no herbicide on this ground. Certification is a paperwork and fee process built for operations much larger than ours, and we would rather put that money into the land. Ask us what we use and we will tell you.
What forms do you sell plants in?
Dried whole leaf for brewing, powders for cooking and mixing, alcohol extracts taken by the dropper, capsules for when you would rather not taste anything, prerolls for the mullein, and blended teas. Same plants, different amounts of work already done for you. Which form suits you depends on how much kitchen time you want to spend.
How do I choose between them?
Ask what you will actually do with it. If you like making a cup of something, buy dried leaf or a tea. If you cook most nights, a powder disappears into food you already make. If you travel or forget things, an extract or a capsule survives your schedule better than a kettle does.
How long do dried herbs keep?
Whole dried leaf holds up about a year in a sealed jar kept out of the light, and longer if it stays cool. Powders fade faster because more surface is exposed, which is why we grind in small batches rather than ahead of time. Alcohol extracts keep for years. If a leaf has lost its color and its smell, it has lost the rest too.
What does regenerative mean on your farm?
It means we are trying to leave this ground better than we found it. We do not till more than we have to, we keep something living in the soil, we compost, and we let wild stands like the mullein come back on their own instead of clearing and replanting. That is a description of how we work, and not a certification.
