Frequently Asked Questions
What do people order most from your farm?
Mullein leads by a wide margin, in every form we sell it, dried leaf, extract, prerolls, and the Bronchial Support Tea. Moringa leaf powder is next, and moringa is the plant we grow the most of. Sweet Gum Ball Extract is the one almost nobody else makes, so people come looking for it by name. Those three carry the farm.
Did you grow everything in this collection?
Most of it. We wildcraft the mullein on our land, we grow the moringa and turmeric in our fields, and we gather the sweet gum balls here. A few items we buy in and pack by hand at our farm in Opp, Alabama, and we will tell you which ones if you ask. We do not call a purchase order a harvest.
Do you offer free shipping?
Yes, on orders over fifty dollars. Everything ships from our farm in Opp, Alabama, so there is no warehouse in the middle. We pack the orders ourselves. If something you ordered is running low or gone, we would rather tell you than sit on it, since much of what we sell is limited to one season's harvest.
I have never used loose herbs before. Where should I start?
Start with a tea, because it needs nothing but hot water and a strainer. Dried Mullein Leaf and Moringa Orange are both easy first cups. If you cook, moringa leaf powder is the simplest thing to stir into food you already make. Capsules and extracts are for when you want the plant without the kitchen step.
What is the difference between a tea, a powder, an extract, and a capsule?
A tea is dried plant material you steep and then strain out. A powder is that same plant ground fine, so it mixes into food and drinks instead of being strained away. An extract is the plant steeped in alcohol and taken by the dropper. A capsule is powder in a shell, for when you would rather not taste it.
How do you dry your herbs?
We cut by hand and get the material onto screens the same day, drying in shade at low temperature rather than in sun or high heat, because heat takes the color and the smell out of a leaf. Once it is dry we store it whole and grind or blend in small batches as orders come in.
