“Tea for Two” this Valentines Day

“Tea for Two” this Valentines Day

Are you like me and love coffee and coffee drinks? There are lines at the drive through at all the coffee shops now, but did you know that tea is known around the world as the most popular beverage and is beginning to be a hot item at coffee shops now as well?

Teas contain natural plant compounds that are known to be heart-healthy, and there are studies showing that tea drinkers have lower rates of heart disease. So teas can be a heart-healthy and waist friendly if they are not filled up with in-healthy additional ingredients, especially black and green teas.

Black, White, Oolong, Green and many others are all teas from the same plant, "Camellia Sinensis". They all are made by processing the same plant differently. For example, black tea comes from leaves that are exposed to the air longer (called oxidation) than green tea. Herbal teas, on the other hand, don’t come from that plant. Instead, they are infusions of different plants to make a variety of wonderful tea combinations, with so many healthy benefits.

Like coffee, plain tea contains just a couple of calories per cup and no sugar. But what’s added can change that. A medium sweet tea and a large iced matcha latte from fast food restaurants both pack about 7 teaspoons of sugar. (The American Heart Association recommends no more than 6-9 teaspoons for the whole day). So tea alone is almost calorie free. So again just be aware of those additional ingredients!

Tea is more than 99 percent water, so tea’s hydrating qualities offset any diuretic effects, and can be counted as your daily water intake, as long as they are FREE of calories. Most herbal teas don’t contain any caffeine, but some teas do, so if caffeine bothers you make sure you read the labels or ask. Our herbal tea blends DO NOT contain caffeine so no need for concern drinking them!

So, with Valentines Day soon approaching, why not try some of our herbal tea blends with your sweetie and have “Tea for Two”? However, you don’t have to give up your coffee beverages if you are a coffee lover like me, just try adding more teas into your life! They have so many wonderful tastes and benefits.

Here is a listing of just a few of our herbal tea blends:

Passion Fruit Chai: This tea combines the decadent tropical flavors of passion fruit and a mixture of black teas along with the sweet zesty traditional organic chai spices including cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves to create a uniquely rich, fruity, and spicy beverage. This uniquely delicious tea tastes great served hot or cold!

Afternoon Delight: An elegant and soothing mild-bodied blend that makes for the perfect relaxing afternoon tea. You’ll first notice the peppermint aroma and flavor, followed by the calming taste of chamomile, with a hint of cinnamon. Caffeine-Free

Moringa Orange Tea: A smooth blending of moringa, dried orange peel, and organic galangal root. If you haven’t tried moringa tea yet it tastes more like a green tea does in comparison.

Moringa Mint Tea: A nice blend of organic moringa, organic peppermint leaf, organic spearmint leaf, and organic elder flowers. This tea not only tastes great, but smells wonderful.
