Sinus support herbal tea blend from Mayim Farm Alabama

A warm cup for the cold, damp, pollen-heavy stretches of the year. Herbs with a long history of traditional use for the head and the sinuses, blended and packed by hand at our farm in Opp, Alabama.

What is in Sinus Support Tea?

  • Marshmallow Leaf. A traditional soothing herb, mild and slightly sweet in the cup.
  • Yarrow Flower. An old field herb and a fixture of Western folk practice.
  • Nettle Leaf. Long reached for through pollen season.
  • Echinacea. One of the most-used herbs in Western herbalism.
  • Peppermint Leaf. Menthol, and the traditional herb for a clear head.
  • Hibiscus Calyx. Tart and deep red. It carries the cup and gives it its color.
  • Moringa Leaf. Grown on our own farm in Opp, Alabama.

How do I brew Sinus Support Tea?

Steep 1 tablespoon in 8 oz of just-boiled water for 8 to 10 minutes, covered, so the volatile oils stay in the cup. Lean over it and breathe the steam while it sits, which is half of why you made it. Honey suits it. Drink 1 to 3 cups a day.

A few things worth knowing before you brew it

  • Yarrow and echinacea both belong to the daisy family. If ragweed, chrysanthemums, or marigolds give you trouble, this blend may give you trouble too.
  • Nettle has a long traditional use as a diuretic. Ask your provider first if you take blood pressure or diuretic medication.
  • Hibiscus can affect blood pressure. Same conversation if you are managing yours with medication.
  • Echinacea can interact with some prescription drugs.

If you are pregnant, nursing, or taking prescription medication, talk to your healthcare provider before drinking this or any herbal tea.

What is the difference between Sinus Support and Bronchial Support?

Bronchial Support is built around herbs traditionally used lower down, in the lungs and the chest. Sinus Support is built around herbs traditionally used higher up, in the head and the sinuses. Different jobs. Most people who keep one end up keeping both.

Does the blend ever change?

We blend in small batches and we do adjust the formula from time to time as we learn more and as what we can source changes. The list on this page is the current blend. The list printed on your bag is what is in your bag. If the two ever disagree, trust the bag and tell us so we can fix the page.

How many cups are in a package?

Roughly 10 to 15 cups, depending on how strong you brew it. You can get a second steep out of the leaves, a little milder, though most of the volatile oil comes out on the first pass.

Where does this tea come from?

We blend and pack every bag by hand at our farm in Opp, Alabama. The moringa in it we grow ourselves. The rest of the herbs we buy from several suppliers and blend here. No fillers and no artificial flavoring.
