Holy basil (tulsi) is one of the most revered plants in Ayurvedic medicine, used for thousands of years as an adaptogen, an immune herb, and a daily tonic for mind and body. There are three main varieties, and they're distinct enough that herbalists use them differently. This blend combines all three.
The result is a cup that's calm without being sleepy, grounding without being heavy. Caffeine-free, so it works any time of day, morning, afternoon, or as an evening wind-down.
What's In It
-
Krishna Holy Basil, the most peppery and clove-like of the three. Traditionally used for breathing and immune support.
-
Rama Holy Basil, the mildest variety. Sweet and mellow, the backbone of the blend's flavor.
-
Vana Holy Basil, wild tulsi with a lighter, more floral character. Adds depth and rounds out the other two.
How to Brew
Steep 1 tablespoon in 8 oz of hot water for 5 to 7 minutes. The flavor is herbal and slightly sweet, no bitterness, no astringency. Good plain or with a little honey. Caffeine-free.
