After Supper Tea

A tart red cup with something warm and sweet underneath it, made for the end of a meal. Caffeine free, so it does not matter how late you drink it. We named it after when we drink it.

What is in After Supper Tea?

• Tulsi (Holy Basil). A cornerstone adaptogen in Ayurvedic tradition.
• Rooibos. Naturally sweet, caffeine free, and the base that holds it together.
• Gymnema Sylvestre. A traditional Ayurvedic herb with a long history of use.
• Cinnamon. Warming, and one of the oldest spices in the trade.
• Turmeric. A staple of Ayurvedic cooking and daily practice.
• Haritaki. A traditional Ayurvedic fruit, taken after food.
• Hibiscus. Bright and tart, and it gives the cup its deep red color.

How do I brew After Supper Tea?

Steep 1 tablespoon in 8 oz of hot water for 7 to 10 minutes. The hibiscus brings a natural tartness and turns the cup a deep red. It is good hot and it is very good iced. Caffeine free, so it works at any hour you want it.

What does it taste like?

Tart on top from the hibiscus, warm and sweet underneath from the rooibos and cinnamon. The gymnema and haritaki carry a bitterness that sits at the back of the cup. It does not need honey, though it takes it fine if that is how you drink tea.

Was this tea called something else?

Yes. We sold it as Slim Tea until July 2026. Same blend and same ingredients, only the name changed. This was never a weight loss product and the old name suggested otherwise, so we named it for when we actually drink it. Bags already on our shelf may still carry the Slim Tea label while we work through them.

Read this before you drink it

• Gymnema has a long traditional use around blood sugar. If you take medication for blood sugar, talk to your provider before drinking this daily.
• Haritaki is traditionally used to move things along. Some people find a daily cup does exactly that.
• Hibiscus can affect blood pressure, so ask first if you are managing yours with medication.
• Turmeric can interact with blood thinners.
• Tulsi is traditionally avoided during pregnancy or if you are trying to conceive.

Does the blend ever change?

Formulas get adjusted from time to time. The list on this page is the current blend and the list on your bag is what is in your bag. If the two disagree, trust the bag and tell us so we can fix the page.

Where does this tea come from?

This is not one we formulate ourselves. We source the blend and pack it by hand here in Opp, Alabama. No artificial flavors and no synthetic ingredients.
