A traditional bitter herb blend built around dandelion root, with a long history of use in Western, Ayurvedic, and folk herbal practice. Seven herbs, packed by hand at our farm in Opp, Alabama.

What is in Dandelion Root Tea?

  • Dandelion Root. A classic bitter herb with a long history in Western and European herbalism.
  • Lemongrass. Aromatic, traditionally used for its bright, clean, grassy note.
  • Echinacea. One of the most traditionally used herbs in Western herbalism.
  • Licorice Root. Traditionally used to round out a bitter blend with natural sweetness.
  • Peppermint Leaf. A traditional digestive herb that brightens the flavor of a blend.
  • Tulsi (Holy Basil). An Ayurvedic adaptogen, traditionally part of a daily routine.
  • Ginger Root. Warming, traditionally used in herbal blends for comfort.

How do I brew Dandelion Root Tea?

Steep 1 tablespoon of Dandelion Root Tea in 8 oz of hot water for 8 to 10 minutes. Drink 1 to 2 cups a day. It is caffeine free, so it works as a morning cup or an afternoon one. Many people run it for 2 to 4 weeks at a stretch, seasonally, rather than year round.

What does dandelion root tea taste like?

Earthy and roasty, with a real bitterness to it. Bitter is the point of the herb, not a flaw in the blend. The lemongrass and peppermint brighten the cup and the licorice rounds it out with a natural sweetness at the end. If you like chicory or black coffee, you will get along with it fine.

Can I drink this if I take medication?

Ask your doctor first. Licorice root can interact with some blood pressure and corticosteroid drugs, and echinacea can interact with immunosuppressants. If you take anything regularly, check before you make this a daily habit.

Where does this tea come from?
