This is our mullein extract with peppermint added. Mullein on its own tastes plain and a little earthy, and some folks never warm up to it. The peppermint brightens the drops and leaves a cool finish, so it goes down easier in a glass of water or a cup of tea.
Mullein has a long history in folk practice as a lung and throat herb, and peppermint has been a kitchen and garden staple for centuries. Read more about mullein and how people have used it.
How to Use
Shake well. Take 1 dropperful (about 1 mL) in water or tea, one to three times a day. If you are new to tinctures, start with less and see how it sits with you.
What's in It
Mullein leaf (Verbascum thapsus) and peppermint leaf (Mentha x piperita), extracted in vodka. No water, no glycerin, nothing else added.
Where It Comes From
We cut the mullein by hand from wild stands and dry it on screens in the studio. It is the same leaf that goes into our Mullein Extract. The peppermint we buy in. We blend the two and extract them in small batches here in Opp, Alabama.
Want a cup instead of drops? Our Chest Tea pairs mullein with peppermint and five other herbs.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from your Mullein Extract?
The mullein and the vodka are the same, and we make it the same way. The difference is the peppermint, added for flavor. If plain mullein suits you, stay with the original. If it doesn't, try this one.
Is the peppermint grown on your farm?
No, we buy the peppermint in. The mullein is wildcrafted, and we cut it by hand.
How long does a bottle last?
It depends on how much you use. At one dropperful a day, the 1 oz bottle lasts about a month and the 2 oz about two months.
