A warm, spicy cup with turmeric out front. Ginger gives it heat, cinnamon rounds it off, and the rosemary and oregano keep it from drinking like a dessert. It is closer to a broth than to a sweet tea, and it takes honey well if that is how you like it.
If you bought this from us before, you knew it as Anti-Inflammatory Tea. Same blend, same bag, new name.
Why is it called Rocking Chair Tea?
Because of when people drink it. This is the cup you make after you have been on your feet since six, when the work is done and you finally sit down. We named it for the moment rather than for anything it does, because naming what a tea does is a claim we are not going to make.
How do I brew Rocking Chair Tea?
Steep 1 tablespoon in 8 oz of hot water for 8 to 10 minutes. The roots need longer than a leaf tea does, so give it the full time. Cover the cup while it steeps. A little honey or a splash of milk both work, and black pepper is already in the blend so you do not need to add any.
What is in it?
Turmeric root, ginger root, peppermint leaf, amalaki, rosemary, cinnamon, black pepper, and oregano. Eight plants. No caffeine.
Where this one comes from
None of the plants in this blend grow in south Alabama. Amalaki, cinnamon and black pepper come from climates we do not have, and turmeric is a crop we grew for years and stopped. We pack this tea by hand here in Opp, and we do not claim to have grown a leaf of it.
Anything to know before drinking it?
Turmeric is worth asking your own provider about if you take a blood thinner or have gallbladder trouble. That is a conversation for you and your doctor, not for us.
