Tulsi holy basil herbal tea blend from Mayim Farm Alabama

Holy basil, tulsi, is one of the most revered plants in Ayurvedic tradition, grown by the door of the house and used daily for thousands of years. There are three main varieties and herbalists treat them as different plants. This blend carries all three.

Caffeine free, so it works in the morning or last thing at night.

What is in Tulsi Tea?

  • Krishna Holy Basil. The peppery, clove-like one, and the sharpest of the three.
  • Rama Holy Basil. The mildest. Sweet and mellow, and the backbone of the flavor.
  • Vana Holy Basil. Wild tulsi, lighter and more floral, and it rounds out the other two.

How do I brew Tulsi Tea?

Steep 1 tablespoon of Tulsi Tea in 8 oz of hot water for 5 to 7 minutes. It takes honey well and it does not need it. Caffeine free, so it fits anywhere in the day, and plenty of people drink it in the evening as a way of stopping.

What does tulsi taste like?

Herbal and slightly sweet, with a clove note from the Krishna and a soft floral edge from the Vana. No bitterness and no astringency, which is unusual in a herb tea and is most of why people who try it keep buying it. Closer to a warm garden than to a tea.

Where does this tea come from?

Packed by hand at our farm in Opp, Alabama. No artificial flavors and no fillers.
