Chai Tea
Chai has traveled a long way from where it started and gotten watered down along the road. Most of what gets sold as chai in this country is a sweetened powder or a syrup out of a pump. This is not that.
This one starts with black tea and builds from there. Cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, and ginger, in the proportions chai is supposed to carry. Brew it strong, add milk if you like, sweeten to taste.
How do I brew chai?
Steep 1 tablespoon of chai in 8 oz of hot water for 5 to 7 minutes. For the traditional preparation, simmer the loose tea in equal parts water and milk for 5 minutes, then strain and sweeten with honey or sugar. Simmering pulls more out of the spices and it is worth the extra pot to wash.

Black tea, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, ginger. Contains caffeine. Packed by hand at our farm in Opp, Alabama.
